WHAT DO WE DO? The
American Center was founded to
provide an information service
for the faculty and students of
the American Studies Department,
Azerbaijan University of
Languages, engaged in any study
involving the United States. It
maintains a wide collection of
teaching materials (including
video tapes and computer
software) on American politics,
history, geography, religion,
art, and popular culture.
OUR OBJECTIVES Its
primary objective remains the
advancement of American Studies
among Azerbaijani students,
academicians and other
professionals. To achieve this,
the Center provides research
facilities.
The Center recognizes the
significance of the presence of
outside lecturers and plans to
invite several of them to offer
courses at the Center every
year.
The focus of AC collection is
literature from and about the
United States of America,
primarily in the areas of the
social sciences and the
humanities. Thanks to the
financial support of the US
Embassy in Azerbaijan the Center
has assembled the largest
collection of its kind at the
University.
The faculty and students of the
American Studies department have
open and free access to all AC
resources (print and
electronic). |
