The School of the French Language offers a BA in Teaching French as a Foriegn Language. For more than 10 years the School has been offering two types of curriculums: one developed locally and the other one designed in collaboration with the experts from Marc Bloch University of Strasburg, France. Students follow a dynamic program of language study, which balances theory and practice, and are exposed to modern language teaching methods. Successful students enrolled in this joint program are regularly sent to cover part of their studies at Marc Bloch University, Strasburg.

Lecturers are often invited from France to conduct courses in the French Language and Literature. The joint curriculum also envisages testing and grading of the students' knowledge by specialists of the Marc Bloch University.
After having completed the joint BA program in the Teaching French as a Foreign Language, students have the possibility to enter the MA program in French offered by Marc Bloch University . The accomplishment of the MA program at March Bloch University provides an opportunity to pursue a Doctoral degree in France.
The Department of the French Language, working under the auspices of the School of the French Language, has produced textbooks, dictionaries and teaching guidebooks for the Universities as well as for secondary schools. The Department is one of the most prolific units in the area of the French Language, which promotes the teaching of the French Language in Azerbaijan.
An academic journal dedicated to the contemporary problems of the teaching of the French language in Azerbaijan is issued by the School on a quarterly basis. The School places a great emphasis to involving its students in the research activity through encouraging them to publish articles in this and other academic journals, participating at conferences etc. In 2006 an international conference dedicated to the problems of the French Linguistics and Didactics was held at Azerbaijan University of Languages. The Marc Bloch University of Strasburg was also an initiator of the conference.
