December 28, 2018, a holiday celebration was held at Azerbaijan University of Languages devoted to the Day of Solidarity of the Azerbaijanis all over the world held on the 31^st of December each year, and on the occasion of the New Year. The participants of the celebration were given some general information.

Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages Academician Kamal Abdulla congratulated the participants of the celebration, whished them good health and successes at work. “The growth of the number of your friends takes place on the account of the increase of your internal beauty, because only good and honest people are chosen for friendship. I wish you spiritual perfection. I wish you abundant snow. Let grief, pain and bitterness remain in the past. This University is our native home and family. Our greatest desire is to have brotherly-sisterly, parental and children relations among our students and teachers. Our colleagues and I do and will do our best to achieve it”.

Rector Kamal Abdulla spoke about the farsightedness of Heydar Aliyev, national leader of the Azerbaijani people, and on the declaration of the Day of Solidarity of the Azerbaijanis all over the world: “Heydar Aliyev, national leader of the Azerbaijani people, included the Day of Solidarity of the Azerbaijanis all over the world into our calendar with a far-sightedness peculiar to him. On December 16, 1991, being the chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan and taking into consideration the importance of creating the unity of the Azerbaijanis of the world Heydar Aliyev declared the 31^st of December the Day of Solidarity of all the Azerbaijanis of the world. It was the proof that Heydar Aliyev was not only President of Azerbaijanis, but that of all the Azerbaijanis of the world. It seems to me that the more we move off from him, spiritually we come much closer to him. His feelings, reflections, emotions become much closer to us. We feel his pains connected with the fate of Azerbaijan, with our country, nation, people, with the fate of each of us, with what he said and what he did not say. On behalf of all of you I want to wish good health to the Azerbaijani President on the location of the New Year. We support and cheer his fight against the world and want to note his titanic toil on behalf of Azerbaijan. I believe that this struggle will end in favour of Azerbaijan. I believe that our students will have their school practice in Shusha, Khankendi, and Khojavend and in our other districts. Those days are not too far. We must unite around our President; we must come closer those days step by step”.

The rector congratulated the parents and other family members of the students, too. He considered them the family members of the University. The students of the Faculty of Education of the University Murad Aliyev, Asmar Seyid-zade, Fidan Aliyeva, Nargiz Majidli, student of the Faculty of International Relations and Management Shahveren Babayev sang songs in different languages. After the celebration a holiday table was laid and an entertainment was organized for the students of the University.
