Lexicological and Lexicographical Research Laboratory was founded in 2001. The laboratory has a supervisor of studies (part-time), 2 senior scientific workers, a scientific worker and a laboratory assistant. The laboratory works in two directions: a) preparing monographs in lexicology and phraseology; b) compiling dictionaries. 

Research products of the laboratory include the Monograph titled "Comparative Lexicology of German and Azerbaijani Languages" by Dr. Cherkez Gurbanli and senior scientific worker Baxshali Hasanov, the Monograph titled "Structural - Semantic Analysis of Semantic Phraseology in Azerbaijani Language" by senior scientific worker Aziza Hajiyeva, as well "English - Azerbaijani Phraseological Dictionary", "German -Azerbaijani Dictionary", "Great Azerbaijani - German Dictionary" and "Great German - Azerbaijani Dictionary.
