The opening ceremony of the Center of Azerbaijani Language and Culture was held on September 13 on the initiative of the Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, academician Kamal Abdullayev, and the Rector of the Minsk State Linguistic University, professor Natalia Lapteva, and with the active participation of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Belarus.
Rector of Minsk State Linguistic University, Professor Natalia Lapteva delivered an opening speech at the opening ceremony. Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, academician, national writer Kamal Abdullayev, welcoming the participants of the event, noted that the opening of the Center of Azerbaijani language and culture will be of great importance in the social and political life of both countries, as well as in the scientific and pedagogical activities of the universities.
The event was attended by Head of the Department of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus Pishov Sergei Nikolayevich, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Molunov Sergei Petrovich, Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Belarus Rustamov Nizami, First Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Relations and National Security of the Parliament of the Republic of Belarus, Professor of the Belarusian State University Rusakovich Andrei Vladimirovich, Dean of the Faculty of Education 1 of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, Professor Fikret Jahangirov, Chairman of the Youth Organization "Congress of Azerbaijani Public" in the Republic of Belarus Olesya Vtaliyevna Kosoikina talked about the importance of opening the Center of Azerbaijani Language and Culture in Minsk State University. It should be noted that recently Azerbaijani language and culture centers have been opened in universities of many countries of the world. The Center of Azerbaijani Language and Culture, opened in Minsk State Linguistic University is the eighth one.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, a round table dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National leader Heydar Aliyev and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus "Belarus and Azerbaijan: History, Modernity and Prospects of the two countries" was held. Moderators of the round table, Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, Academician, People's Writer Kamal Abdullayev and Rector of the Minsk State Linguistic University, Professor Natalia Yevgenyevna Lapteva made an opening speech and talked about the history and traditions of political, economic and cultural ties between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus. Academician Kamal Abdullayev noted the important role of our Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in establishing relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus, and emphasized the political will of President Ilham Aliyev in achieving the current level of these relations.
In the course of the event, deputy of the Parliament of the Republic of Belarus, professor of the Belarusian State University Andrei Rusakovich, associate professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of MSLU Vladimir Pashkevich, dean of the Faculty of Philology of BSU professor Vasily Starichenok, associate professor of the Department of History and Social Sciences of MSLU Nikolay Baranov and associate professor of the Department of History and Social Sciences of MSLU Olga Gutko made a report and talked about the prospects of cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus in economic, political, scientific, educational and cultural spheres and the multiculturalism policy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
